This is a new painting from my current series- this is the Telephone Series. I am looking for people who want to include this painting or series in their roster for 2012. If you know of any suggestion, please send me an e-mail at dunker@comcast.net.

The paintings are oil on canvas- 80" x 80". They are very sturdy and well built canvases.

So now I have an art gallery and a teaching job so the challenge will be continuing to maintaining the studio practice. I'm going to be on a pretty strict schedule for the next few months. Studio time will be in the morning. I am just so thrilled with how things are going.

I have a solo show at House Gallery- Salt Lake City- in July. The show is titled "PHONEME" and includes paintings of acoustic depictions of the letters of the alphabet.

These photos are taken in my studio recently.... one photo is of my new paintings lined up for the next process in paint application. The other photo is of my quaint little ceramics studio. And, the third photo (the one of the bear) is a painting I did 12 years ago.

I finished this painting yesterday and I am photographing all my work... just for my records. I will be moving things around in the studio to make it easier to create my next series of work.

We are also beginning the remodel our our house soon so there is a lot of things in the studio that need to be moved into the garage.

Here is a painting I had finished about 2 months ago... My favorite part is the texture and composition. It isn't titled yet.

I can't wait until I find out why this can of paint was $100.00 (i love 50% sales) The chair looks a lot like the painting..hmmmm.

November painting finally completed....

Finally completed my November Painting. I have it 'put aside' to dry and my studio has so much room. I put up all my drawings for my next project and it is really exciting. My next project is to complete a series of sculptures to accompany my paintings..... a big project with small objects. However.... I am thinking about having my sculptures constructed for me.... that means i will be doing a series of prototypes. I'm looking forward to exploring plastics. We will see how finances and processes go. I might see if I can turn this into a public art project? Hmmmm. So many possibilities.

Here is my concrete cube.... basking in the sun. I donated it to the Kayo Gallery Box Paper Scissors show.... Needless to say I am happy to get to spend more time with it.

Fun Sculpture project

I haven't done a sculpture in quite some time. I am working on this concrete cube and I am excited to start shifting towards 3-D again. Since I am finishing up a long-term series of paintings I can think about my next project. I already have the sketches and paintings started....

I want to start ceramics today, but I need to stay focused and finish up my current project. That is going well too so it will be fun to finish.

Here is a work in progress. Late night studio time. This one is scheduled to be completed by the end of November. You can also see the new series of work on the wall at the right. I just watched ART 21 and I am thinking about the work of Allan McCollum. Somehow his work ties into my background in design. Hmmm.... how will this evolve?

Here is the painting I completed a couple of days ago. I am waiting for the other to dry before I put them away for storage. I also need to give this one a title. Since this series of paintings is coming to a close I have been able to spend more time on drawings for my next group of paintings. They are turning out better than I had hoped.

Paint outside!!

I moved this painting outside to create a wash... notice my mask with the blue tape. I wonder why I hadn't thought of outside studio before. Raven (the dog) thinks this idea is delicious.
